Sunday Services
Hour-long Sunday services include singing hymns, listening to a solo (at most churches), repeating The Lord's Prayer, joining in on Responsive Readings, and listening to readings from the Pastor of the church, that pastor being The Holy Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Examples of Sunday passage topics include God, Life, Love, God the Preserver of Man, and Reality. Two Readers present the passages to the congregation. The same Sunday readings are presented worldwide in all Christian Science churches.
Wednesday Testimony Meetings
Hour-long Wednesday Testimony Meetings include readings from The Holy Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. The readings are selected by the First Reader of the church and reflect topics pertinent to local, national, or international events, and offer attendees a spiritual perspective for addressing and praying about those events. The readings comprise about half of the meeting. During the second half, attendees can tell about how they have been healed by Christ and God's power and helped, through their study of Christian Science, to solve a variety of problems, illnesses, and dilemmas.
